Un pezzo di pinsa

Pinsa or pinza or pincia is a traditional Venetian cake. Recipes vary but it’s ususally made of flour (or dry bread), polenta, yeast, milk, butter, sugar, sultanas, pine nuts and often fennel seeds, it has the consistency of a bread pudding. It’s delicious for breakfast or with a cup of coffee or tea at snack time. You won’t find it outside of Venice and the Veneto so next time you’re in town why not treat yourself to a piece. You know you want to.
